Summary: This role as a Financial Accountant within the Corporate and Capital Accounting Service focuses on ensuring compliance with capital budget reporting and year-end financial reporting. The post-holder will collaborate with internal teams and key stakeholders to enhance financial reporting processes and provide technical accounting guidance. The position also involves leading financial support for capital budgets and developing policies to improve efficiency. A strong emphasis is placed on building relationships across finance and other directorates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial support for capital budget aspects, particularly in complex areas.
- Engage with budget holders and resolve issues within established guidelines.
- Play a key role in year-end capital budget and accounting procedures, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Provide financial advice and technical accounting guidance on capital expenditure.
- Develop and revise policies and procedures as necessary.
- Strengthen relationships and partnerships across finance and other directorates.
- Support service development by identifying and implementing new approaches to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to resource management within the capital team.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant with current membership of one of the five CCAB bodies or CIMA or equivalent.
- Based in Northern Ireland.
- Public sector background.
- Demonstrated managerial experience.
- Redemption asset management (RAM) experience.
