Summary: The role of Financial Accountant involves managing cashflow reporting, statutory reporting, and financial controls for an established brand in Bristol. This interim position requires collaboration with internal finance teams, external auditors, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting. The contract is for 15 months and includes a hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will be a key partner in enhancing financial processes and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review month-end close journals and conduct detailed general ledger analysis.
- Oversee financial statement preparation in compliance with IFRS and support external audits.
- Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead the preparation and ownership of monthly divisional cashflow reports.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, statutory accounting, and internal controls.
- Provide business continuity support for lead accountants when required.
- Collaborate with finance business partners, corporate accounting, and external auditors to enhance reporting processes.
Key Skills:
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong track record in cashflow reporting, statutory accounting, and financial controls.
- Knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation.
- Ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills to engage cross-functionally with finance and operations teams.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities to meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
