Summary: The Financial Accountant role at Virgin Atlantic focuses on managing financial accounting processes for intercompany transactions and foreign exchange revaluation. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting for intercompany transactions and record relevant journals.
• Reconcile intercompany positions and resolve discrepancies during month-end close.
• Calculate and prepare intercompany elimination journals for consolidation.
• Upload and maintain foreign currency exchange rates in Oracle.
• Ensure accuracy of unrealised FX gains and losses via Oracle auto-revaluation.
• Prepare regulatory reports for collaborators such as CAA/ABTA/ATOL/ONS.
• Support the Financial Reporting team during the annual audit and year-end reporting cycle.
• Perform ad hoc month-end journal entries and tasks as required.

Key Skills:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA trainee (early studier or part qualified level).
• Good understanding of accounting standards and double entry bookkeeping.
• Strong systems knowledge and experience, particularly with Oracle Financials.
• Ability to optimise processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Experience in a fast-paced finance department or audit firm.
