Summary: The Financial Accountant role at Close Brothers involves providing comprehensive support for both external and internal reporting, as well as overseeing finance functions within the banking segments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly Bank consolidation file
  • Prepare monthly consolidation journals
  • Compile the internal Profit by Clusters report
  • Run monthly control reports and ensure no issues exist including monitoring intercompany matrix
  • Ensure timely submissions of the FINREP packs from the business units
  • Preparation of the consolidated quarterly FINREP report including raising review comments and challenge to the business units
  • Preparation of the Office of National Statistics returns
  • Assist with the consolidation of business submissions of data as required, including summary of intangible assets, IFRS 9 impairment, data for impact assessment of new accounting standards
  • Produce high quality interim and year-end financial reports including the Banking Group’s consolidated and stand-alone financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Support the IFRS 16/IFRS 9 process across the Bank

Key Skills:

  • A qualified Accountant, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Strong organisational skills including a good track record of delivering effective reporting under pressure and to tight business-critical deadlines
  • Evidence of working well within teams and proven ability to engage

Working as part of the Finance team our ideal team member will have previous experience in month-end and financial control procedures with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
