Summary: The Financial Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Leeds, focusing on maternity cover within a collaborative finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly financial reporting to the US parent company via Oracle platform
- Management and reconciliation of US GAAP accounting entries
- VAT, alcohol duty, and import duty accounting and reporting
- Cash and treasury management, including payments and credit card administration
- Preparation of period-end journals, reconciliations, and lease accounting
- Maintain fixed asset register and capex tracking
- Update and maintain SOPs for the finance function
- Intercompany balance reconciliation
- Government reporting (e.g., National Statistics)
- Support for Corporation Tax analysis and SOX compliance
- Insurance data coordination and liaison with brokers
- Assist with statutory accounts and liaise with auditors
- Collaborate with wider finance team and contribute to ad hoc projects
- Ensure accuracy of finance master data
Key Skills:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience
- Strong technical accounting skills with a good understanding of financial controls
- Familiarity with direct/indirect taxes, SOX compliance, and US GAAP is advantageous
- Experience within FMCG or multi-entity businesses beneficial
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

About The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to work as part of a collaborative, high-performing finance function in a dynamic, multi-divisional business. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller , you’ll join a close-knit team of 3 Financial Accountants and 1 Assistant Financial Accountant, playing a critical role in both day-to-day operations and wider finance projects.
