Summary: The role of Finance Transformation Manager involves supporting the redesign and optimization of finance processes for a client, focusing on enhancing reporting efficiency through automation and new data sources. This hands-on position requires expertise in financial reporting and process improvement, particularly during year-end close and audit periods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance transformation and controls, with practical experience in implementing automated solutions. The contract is for 6 months with potential for extension, based in a hybrid working arrangement at Waterside, Heathrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and improve the client’s financial reporting processes, controls, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Financial Reporting, Finance Transformation, and Data teams to redesign processes leveraging new datasets and automation.
  • Develop documentation, process maps, and control narratives for new processes.
  • Prepare a detailed roadmap for implementing new processes and controls considering ERP capabilities.
  • Support testing and rollout of new automated processes and reporting solutions.
  • Assist the Financial Reporting team during year-end reporting and audit processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Group reporting during year-end closing.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, schedules, and working papers for audit queries.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing clear responses to audit requests.
  • Contribute to post-year-end improvement reviews for future efficiency and control enhancements.

We are seeking an experienced interim Finance professional to support the redesign and optimisation of our client’s finance processes, leveraging new data sources and automation tools to enhance reporting efficiency and control. This is a hands-on role combining process improvement with operational financial reporting support, particularly during the year-end close and audit period. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, process design, and controls, with practical experience in implementing automated or data-driven finance solutions.

Contract – 6 months (potential to extend) Location – Waterside (UB7 0GB) (Hybrid 2/3 days in the office) Pay – Flexible (inside IR35 through umbrella)

What you’ll be doing Finance Process Improvement: Review the client’s current financial reporting processes, controls and workflows in the context of the client’s commercial proposition. Partner with Financial Reporting, Finance Transformation and Data teams to re-design these processes and controls to leverage new datasets and automated reporting capabilities. Develop documentation, process maps, and control narratives for new processes. Prepare a detailed roadmap for the implementation of these new processes and controls that takes into consideration the wider review of the client’s ERP capabilities. Support testing and rollout of new automated processes and reporting solutions.

Financial Reporting: Provide support to the client’s Financial Reporting team through the year-end reporting and audit process, including: The year-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Group reporting. Preparation and/or review of reconciliations, schedules, and working papers as required to support year-end audit queries. Liaising with internal and external auditors, providing clear and well-supported responses to audit requests. Contributing to post-year-end improvement reviews to enhance efficiency and control for future periods.

What we’re looking for: An experienced interim Finance professional with a strong track record of successful process improvement, controls design and finance transformation.
