Finance Systems Implementation Project Accountant

Role Summary:This role supports a major finance systems transformation programme, contributing to the design and implementation of new processes and systems. The successful candidate will work across multiple finance workstreams, lead projects, and act as a finance business partner to stakeholders across the organisation. The role is dynamic and will evolve based on programme priorities, offering exposure to a wide range of strategic and operational finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support finance transformation projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts to define and document finance requirements.
• Drive process improvements with a focus on standardisation, automation, and efficiency.
• Build strong relationships across finance and non-finance teams to support integrated solutions.
• Represent finance in cross-functional working groups and governance forums.
• Deliver high-quality project management from planning through to implementation.
• Provide insight and challenge to support decision-making and change adoption.

Essential Experience & Skills: Qualified accountant or equivalent senior-level finance experience. Strong background in financial and management accounting, with broad process knowledge. Proven track record in finance systems implementation and process change. Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to interpret complex data and influence strategic decisions. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Desirable: Experience with SAP (including S/4HANA, Business Warehouse, Business Objects). Project management qualifications. Familiarity with agile methodologies.
