Summary: The Finance Systems Accountant will play a crucial role in a Higher Education organization undergoing a significant finance systems transformation. Reporting to the Finance Director, this position involves project management of the transition to a cloud-based finance system and collaboration with non-finance teams to embed new processes. The role requires a qualified accountant or exceptional QBE with relevant experience in finance systems and project management. The position offers a competitive daily rate and hybrid working arrangements in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage the transition to a cloud-based finance system.
- Engage with non-finance teams to ensure new processes are embedded in work streams.
- Train staff on new finance processes.
- Lead system change initiatives and address integration issues.
- Review and automate key finance processes.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/CIPFA/ACCA) or exceptional QBE with relevant experience.
- Experience in implementing finance systems and project management within an SME environment.
- Proven history of leading system change and knowledge of integration issues.
- Ability to create buy-in with non-finance staff.
- Confident and effective communication skills.

Your new role
As Finance Systems Accountant, you will report to the Finance Director and work closely with the Management Accountant to project manage the transition to a cloud-based finance system, engaging with non-finance teams to ensure new processes are Embedded in work streams, including training of those staff.
What you'll need to succeed
- You will be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/CIPFA/ACCA) or exceptional QBE with relevant and recent experience.
- Candidates with a broad overview of Finance and experience of implementing systems and/or project management within an SME environment would be well suited to this assignment.
- You must have a proven history of leading system change - good knowledge of integration issues essential.
- You will have effectively reviewed and automated key finance processes and created buy-in with non-finance staff in previous roles.
- Confident and effective communicator across all levels.
