Summary: The Finance Support role is a fixed-term contract position aimed at providing interim assistance to a finance team undergoing changes within a manufacturing or FMCG environment. The successful candidate will support the preparation of management accounts and improve financial processes over a three-month period. Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage 200 are essential for this role. Attention to detail and a proactive attitude are key attributes sought in the ideal candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports for review.
- Overseeing purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
- Monitoring stock movements and product costing within the manufacturing process.
- Reviewing and improving day-to-day financial processes and controls.
- Supporting a Finance Assistant in their daily work.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a finance role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG.
- Good knowledge of management accounts and general accounting processes.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage 200 accounting software.
- Great attention to detail and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Able to work well independently and as part of a small, supportive team.

Finance Support - FTC £35,000 – 40,000 Manchester
My client supplies over 5,000 national and international retail outlets, plus trade and wholesale customers, with it’s award-winning and iconic food products. They have recently lost a member of their Finance team and are also going through a number of changes within the business. They are looking for interim Finance support to get them through the next three months, helping them on their journey to streamline current finance processes.
What there looking for
- Previous experience in a finance role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG.
- Good knowledge of management accounts and general accounting processes.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with our accounting software is essential (Sage 200).
- Great attention to detail and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Able to work well independently and as part of a small, supportive team
