Summary: The Finance Reporting Manager role involves overseeing month-end processes, technical accounting, and statutory accounts for both group and subsidiary entities. This position is hybrid, based in Basingstoke, and classified as outside IR35. The manager will also handle audit requests and various ad-hoc activities related to financial reporting and compliance. Strong technical accounting knowledge and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation of certain notes for the consolidated group accounts
  • Responsible for completion of designated subsidiary statutory accounts and project management for the audit of these working closely with our external auditors.
  • Ownership of month end procedures including reporting and forecasting of the group's £2.2bn of debt, pensions and share based payments.
  • Posting central journals, balance sheet recs and other control activities
  • Driving process improvement across month end and year end procedures
  • Monitoring and reporting compliance with debt covenants and other requirements of our WBS (whole business securitisation) debt documents.
  • Responsibility for accounting relating to debt issues/redemptions/refinancing, including writing technical accounting papers for auditors and Audit Committee.
  • Monthly accounting of derivative transactions, as well as maintaining appropriate hedging documentation of new schemes.
  • Responding to financial accounting queries from auditors and across the Group as well as drafting accounting papers for group accounting matters
  • Responsible for compliance with IFRS & FRS 101 accounting policies and including impact assessments for new accounting standards.
  • Carry out any adhoc analysis and project work as required e.g., refinancing (alongside Group Treasurer).

Key Skills:

  • Experience gained in an accountancy environment with proven knowledge of all aspects of financial control.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience
  • Highly numerate with good communication skills, both verbal and written with strong report writing skills.
  • Excellent and proven stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Maintains a high quality of work suitable for presentation to senior stakeholders or external auditors.

Our client are currently looking to hire a Finance Reporting Manager to join the team on a hybrid working basis, with the client site based in Basingstoke. This role would be Outside IR35.
