Finance Project Support Officer

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with Project Managers and Finance colleagues, helping to ensure projects remain financially on track through accurate reporting, budget management and financial analysis.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects while developing your commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the setup, monitoring, reporting and closure of projects within financial systems
• Assist with project budget management, financial controls and reporting
• Review and update live projects alongside Project Managers and stakeholders
• Generate invoicing schedules and support customer billing activities
• Produce expenditure statements and financial reports
• Provide guidance and training to non-finance colleagues on budgeting tools and financial processes
• Resolve project finance queries and support process improvements
• Maintain accurate financial records and project data

About You

We're looking for an organised and proactive finance professional who enjoys working with both numbers and people.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience within finance, accounting, project finance or financial operations
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial controls
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive and solution-focused approach

Desirable Experience

• Experience using Workday or other finance systems
• SharePoint experience
• Previous experience within a research, scientific, academic or technical environment
