Interim Finance Project Manager

3–6 Month Contract | Outside IR35 | Immediate Start

I am looking for an experienced Finance Project Manager to support a hands on finance transformation project focused on implementing and embedding a new time and attendance and weekly payment process.

The project will involve bringing together the finance, payroll and operational processes, ensuring accurate timesheet data feeds into weekly payments and working with an outsourced provider to deliver a controlled and reliable payment process.

Key deliverables:

• Take ownership of the project plan and drive delivery through to completion
• Oversee the implementation and close out of the time and attendance system and processes
• Develop and improve starters, leavers, rates and weekly payment processes
• Review timesheet data, reconciliations, calculations and payment outputs to identify gaps and errors
• Manage and review parallel runs to ensure the new process is accurate before going live
• Support the implementation and integration of an outsourced payroll/payment provider
• Work through system integration and data requirements with internal teams and external suppliers
• Document key finance and payroll processes and produce clear user guidance
• Manage two key suppliers and coordinate stakeholders across Finance, Operations and senior management
• Ensure the new process is controlled, automated where possible and capable of supporting a high volume weekly payroll/payment cycle

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong project management experience within a finance environment
• Experience delivering finance systems, payroll, ERP or significant process improvement projects
• Hands-on experience of payroll implementation or major finance/process change
• Strong understanding of finance processes, controls, reconciliations and payment processes
• Experience managing external suppliers and multiple stakeholders
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to get into the detail and resolve issues
