We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance & Operations Manager to lead our clients finance function on a part-time interim basis. This role offers the opportunity to play a key role in driving improvements in financial processes, systems, and performance while enjoying the autonomy and strategic input of a senior position without the demands of full-time hours.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the finance function, including preparation of monthly management accounts and group-level reporting.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes and oversee the preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
- Monitor cash flow and support financial planning, developing and improving internal controls and financial procedures.
- Provide financial insight and commercial judgement to support business decisions and produce consolidated accounts as required across the group.
- Support day-to-day people matters in collaboration with our external HR provider, handling employee relations, performance, and other HR processes.
- Develop financial dashboards and management information for Directors and Shareholders, applying AI tools to enhance accounting operations and financial reporting.
- Improve operational systems and business processes across the finance function and wider business, ensuring compliance, governance, and effective office operations.
- Work closely with senior management on strategic initiatives, shaping a high-performing environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team and experience producing consolidated accounts across multiple entities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and managing a varied workload.
- Commercially aware with sound financial judgement and excellent people skills, capable of building trusted relationships and handling sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work accurately.
