Summary: My client, a renowned private bank, is seeking a Finance Officer to join their finance team. The role involves overseeing daily accounting tasks, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance or Business, along with relevant experience in banking or financial services. Strong communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting tasks and ensure smooth finance operations.
- Prepare monthly business and financial reports, including compliance and statistical submissions for local entities.
- Perform regular financial checks and regulatory reviews.
- Assist with year-end audits, tax processes, and statutory filings, ensuring all legal and tax obligations are met.
- Draft audited accounts and liaise with auditors to verify financial accuracy.
- Contribute to projects by gathering requirements, updating stakeholders, and joining testing or rollout activities.
- Provide backup support for finance colleagues during absences.
- Handle special assignments as required.
Key Skills:
- Degree in Finance, Business, or similar; Qualified accountant preferred.
- 3-5+ years' experience in banking or financial services.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially advanced Excel (macros, Power Query).
- Knowledge of programming or analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Python) is a plus.
- Experience with accounting and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Avaloq, FRS Global) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
- Detail-focused, motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
- Proactive and quick to pick up new systems or processes.
