Summary: The Finance Officer role at a public sector organization in Glasgow involves managing financial tasks such as posting journals, reconciling accounts, and supporting the Senior Business Accountant. This position is primarily home-based with some in-person meetings required. The contract is for an initial six months with the possibility of extension. Candidates should have relevant financial qualifications or experience and strong Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Posting journals, reconciling accounts, and running reports as needed.
- Supporting the Senior Business Accountant with tasks related to the transition programme.
- Assisting with ongoing business-as-usual (BAU) and programme work within the organization.
- Attending internal meetings as required.
Key Skills:
- Educated to SCQF Level 8 (HND/Degree in a financial discipline) or part qualified accountant with CCAB accounting bodies, or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to operate desktop packages and business systems at the required level.
- Capability to perform complex numerical and financial calculations and analyze data effectively.
- Excellent MS Excel skills are desirable.
