Finance Manager- Temp-to-Perm

The Role

Reporting to the Group MD, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation and work closely with the existing team to improve how the function operates.

• Assessing the current finance function and identifying priorities
• Working through the existing backlog and bringing accounts up to date
• Establishing clear processes, responsibilities and deadlines
• Taking ownership of management accounts and transactional finance
• Reviewing P&L and balance sheet performance
• Completing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Overseeing payment allocations and accounts payable
• Bringing greater structure and accountability to the finance team
• Reviewing the current outsourcing arrangements and supporting the transition of work back in-house
• Acting as the link between finance and the wider operational business
• Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical improvements
• Ensuring financial tasks are completed accurately and on time

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager who can take ownership and hit the ground running.

• Strong experience across P&L, balance sheet and management accounts
• Excellent understanding of the full finance process
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and transactional finance
• Strong Xero experience
• Experience within a project-based, contracting or construction environment
• Understanding of WIP, cost of sales and project accounting
• Strong process improvement skills
• The confidence to challenge existing ways of working
• A hands-on, organised and proactive approach
