Summary: The Finance Manager / Financial Controller role at a growing marketing agency in Central South London involves overseeing day-to-day finance operations, ensuring strong financial control, and supporting business decision-making through accurate reporting. This hands-on position requires managing cashflow, accounts payable, and a small finance team while driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all transactional finance activities including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Manage supplier payments, approvals, and relationships
- Ensure accurate posting of invoices, expenses, and reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy across all financial data
- Take full ownership of cashflow forecasting and monitoring
- Manage short- and medium-term cashflow planning
- Optimise working capital and ensure effective cash management processes
- Provide regular cashflow reporting and insights to senior leadership
- Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports
- Assist with year-end and audit processes
- Maintain and strengthen financial controls and processes
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Manage and mentor a small finance team (up to 2 individuals)
- Oversee workload allocation and development of team members
- Ensure high standards of accuracy and accountability within the team
Key Skills:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong experience in a hands-on finance role (Finance Manager / Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller)
- Proven experience managing Accounts Payable and cashflow processes

The Role
