Summary: The Interim Finance Manager role is focused on supporting day-to-day finance operations and management reporting within a PE-backed international business experiencing operational growth. The position involves ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements across a multi-entity environment. This contract is initially for 3-6 months and offers a competitive daily rate. The role requires collaboration with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholders to enhance financial visibility and reporting quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of monthly management accounts across multiple entities
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring reporting accuracy
  • Producing detailed variance analysis and management reporting packs
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting processes
  • Assisting with statutory audit requirements and financial compliance activity
  • Supporting improvements to finance controls, processes and reporting timelines
  • Working closely with operational stakeholders to improve reporting quality and financial visibility
  • Supporting intercompany accounting and wider group finance activities
  • Assisting with finance systems improvements, automation and reporting enhancements
  • Helping drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

Key Skills:

  • A formal accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), or be close to qualification
  • Previous Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or operational finance experience
  • Strong management accounts, reporting and month-end experience
  • Exposure to audit, controls and multi-entity environments
  • Strong Excel and finance systems capability
  • Experience improving finance processes and reporting efficiency
  • An organised, hands-on and delivery-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across finance and operational teams
  • Prior interim or contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential

Cedar is currently partnered with a PE-backed, international business undergoing a significant period of operational growth and finance improvement, to secure an Interim Finance Manager on an initial contract basis.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the role will support day-to-day finance operations, management reporting, controls and process improvement activity across a complex multi-entity environment.

This growing organisation operates across multiple entities and international locations and is continuing to invest heavily in finance infrastructure, reporting capability and operational improvement.

The business has experienced sustained growth and is now focused on strengthening reporting processes, improving controls and creating a more scalable finance function capable of supporting future expansion.

The environment is fast-paced, collaborative and hands-on, with strong exposure to both BAU finance activity and wider improvement initiatives.

The Role

As Interim Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

Compensation & Benefits

As well as a competitive day rate of £425 – £475 per day, this contract offers the opportunity to join a growing and commercially driven organisation during a key phase of operational and finance development.
