Detailed Description From Employer:

Finance Manager | Not for Profit | Calderdale | £45,000 | 6 month FTC

I'm working with an interesting not-for-profit organisation in West Yorkshire on this Finance Manager opportunity set in a beautiful location with free onsite parking. (You'll need your own transport as the nearest train station is around 1.5 hours walk away!)

The Organisation

This is a thriving organisation with a strong reputation and a genuine commitment to their mission. They're values-driven rather than profit-driven, and this really comes through in everything they do.

The Role

This isn't your average month-end, box-ticking finance role. Yes, you'll be managing the monthly reporting cycle and overseeing a small team of two, but you'll also be a key strategic partner to the Finance Director and the wider Leadership team.

You'll Have Your Fingerprints All Over

  • Monthly management accounts and year-end statutory reporting
  • Cashflow management and treasury activities
  • Budgeting and cost management across departments
  • Working capital management including debtors control
  • Payroll oversight and staff benefits administration
  • System administration for finance applications
  • Supporting the audit process and statutory accounts preparation

This is a proper operational finance role where you'll be rolling your sleeves up, getting involved, and making a genuine difference to how the organisation operates financially.

You

You'll be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with excellent Excel skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into insights that non-finance folk can actually understand and act upon. Ideally, you'll have some understanding of the not-for-profit or charity sector, but if you've got the technical skills, the right attitude, and genuine enthusiasm for mission-driven work, we'd love to hear from you. You'll be someone who thrives in a busy, varied environment, has brilliant attention to detail, and brings a can-do, collaborative approach to work. This organisation has a culture of teamwork and collaboration - if you're someone who enjoys being part of something rather than working in a silo, this could be perfect.

Why This Role?

Working in the not-for-profit sector gives you exposure to a diverse range of financial activities - from managing multiple revenue streams to treasury management to supporting programmes that make a real difference. Every day is different, and you'll be working with people who are genuinely passionate about what they do. Plus, the location is lovely - a beautiful setting with free parking, a benefit that you'll never see on a P60, but makes work a more fun and joyful rather than being in a soulless office block.

This is an initial 6 month FTC, but with a view to a potential extension and a salary of £45,0000
