Summary: The role of Senior Finance Manager in the charity sector involves overseeing the finance function and contributing to the business strategy as part of the Senior Leadership Team. The position requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and entails managing a small finance team while ensuring compliance with financial controls. The manager will also be responsible for developing budgets, preparing reports, and guiding income generation initiatives. This is a part-time, 3-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the finance function and delivery of the business strategy.
  • Develop organisation-wide and local project budgets.
  • Prepare and present reports to the CEO and Trustee Board.
  • Guide and mentor a team of finance professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and external responsibilities.
  • Complete all accounting functions and banking requirements.
  • Monitor and complete payroll, NI, Tax, and pension operations.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts, liaising with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and financial regulations.

Key Skills:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Experience in finance management within the charity sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop financial models and feasibility plans.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
