Summary: The Strategic Finance Manager role at OneRen is a six-month fixed-term position based in Paisley, Renfrewshire, offering hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will provide expert financial advice and strategic insight to support decision-making, while leading core financial functions and managing a high-performing finance team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level financial analysis, insight and reports to the Board, senior management, and stakeholders
  • Oversee the preparation of management accounts, forecasts, statutory accounts, and audit processes
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial and risk management strategies
  • Manage the preparation of revenue and capital budgets, long-term financial plans, and investment appraisals
  • Deliver continuous improvements to financial systems and controls
  • Provide financial modelling, business case development, and support for transformational projects
  • Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and regulatory obligations
  • Identify and pursue external funding opportunities aligned with organisational objectives
  • Manage and support a high-performing finance team

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ICAS)
  • Significant experience in financial leadership within a complex or public sector environment
  • Strategic mindset and excellent analytical skills
  • Hands-on approach to financial operations
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting at an organisational level
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, controls, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience working with Boards and preparing governance reports
  • Ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience identifying external funding and managing public/charitable grants (desirable)

Job Title: Strategic Finance Manager 6-month FTC

Salary: £65,000 to £70,000 DOE

The Opportunity

As Strategic Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, supporting the Head of Finance & Corporate Services and deputising where necessary. You’ll provide expert financial advice and strategic insight to support sound decision-making across the organisation and lead core financial functions, planning, analysis and reporting. You’ll operate in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

About You

You are a qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) with significant experience in financial leadership within a complex or public sector environment. You bring a strategic mindset, excellent analytical skills, and a hands-on approach to financial operations. You are confident leading multidisciplinary teams and can communicate complex financial information clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences. You will also bring:

  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting at an organisational level
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, controls, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience working with Boards and preparing governance reports
  • Ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience identifying external funding and managing public/charitable grants (desirable)
