Summary: A prestigious US law firm is seeking a Financial Services Supervisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract in their London office. The role involves managing EMEA finance operations and leading a small team, focusing on accounts payable, VAT compliance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in finance, particularly within professional services or law firms, and possess strong leadership skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of the Financial Services Specialist and Financial Services Assistant, including appraisals, professional development, and daily management.
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable and Cash Application functions.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns and compliance across all EMEA offices.
  • Assist with annual tax requirements and coordination with external advisors for EMEA entities.
  • Support annual audit and financial statement preparation for EMEA offices.
  • Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Act as a key contact for auditors, bankers, and third-party organisations such as tax advisors and HMRC.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and oversee monthly financial reporting activities.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a finance supervisory or team lead role, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, EMEA compliance, and multi-currency accounting.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on developing team capability.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.

Salary (Rate): £75,000.00 yearly
