Finance Manager

A professional services business is seeking a Finance Manager for 3-6 months. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a small team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across both operational and commercial finance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Oversee reconciliations, financial controls and day-to-day finance operations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and financial analysis.
• Prepare VAT and other relevant returns and support year-end and audit activities.
• Provide clear financial insight and business partnering support to senior stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls.

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience in management accounts, month-end reporting and financial controls.

• Hands-on, proactive and commercially minded.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident analysing financial information and explaining it to non-finance colleagues.
• Comfortable working independently within a small team.
• A strong communicator with a collaborative approach.
