Summary: The Finance Manager role in Hemel Hempstead is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on robust accounting and financial reporting. The position requires a technically strong individual to manage monthly management reporting, liaise with auditors, and ensure compliance with financial controls. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified and comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial environment. Immediate availability is preferred for this hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Management Information Packs and disclosure packs, ensuring timely reporting
  • Maintenance of general ledger records, including preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Accounting for finance leases and operating leases
  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly budget processes for P&L and Cashflow
  • Liaising with external auditors to provide audit evidence
  • Support internal audit queries
  • Embed key financial control principles, policies, and governance
  • Guide continuous improvement activities in reporting and planning processes

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Experience in management reporting
  • Ability to work in a small, start-up environment
  • Hands-on approach to financial management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary (Rate): £70,000
