Summary: The Finance Manager role is a short-term contract position based in Ellesmere Port, focused on providing business partnering support to the Education and Inclusion service and budget support to schools. The position involves managing a team to deliver high-quality financial advice and analysis, ensuring effective decision-making and performance management. The role requires independent financial analysis and collaboration with various corporate services and external organizations. The contract duration is three months, with a standard workweek of 37 hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead finance service point of contact supporting special projects.
- Provide independent challenge, analysis, and interpretation of financial and performance information.
- Interpret, evaluate, and report financial and related business information to senior managers.
- Assess strategic and financial risks and advise officers and Members accordingly.
- Ensure business information requirements are reflected in management information production.
- Promote collaborative working across corporate services and external organizations.
Key Skills:
- CCAB Qualification or Relevant Business/Performance qualification.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Experience of staff management at a senior level.
- Experience in a relevant local government role.
- Proven track record in finance and/or performance environment.
- Demonstrable record of completed projects.
