Detailed Description From Employer:

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a six-month role to provide additional support on key group-wide processes during a period of transformation for the team including a new finance system and establishing shared services. The main focus of the role will be to drive working capital improvements, liaising with external auditors to ensure statutory accounts are complete and fully reviewed and reviewing/ updating consistent accounting policies for the Group.

Your Responsibilities

  • To focus on working capital for the group, including:
    • Preparing consolidated debtors and creditors reporting and insight for the Group monthly to be included in the finance pack for the Board
    • Analysing and reviewing debtors across the Group, understanding movements in the overall balance and holding shared services teams to account on cash collection and aged debt reduction
    • Key point of escalation on aged debt issues, liaising with third party legal support to engage them as required
    • Analysing creditor days for the group, proposing options to improve creditor days and action plans to support this
  • To close out the preparation and submission of the statutory accounts process for the Group, including:
    • Liaise with external auditors to complete the statutory accounts for all legal entities, including the consolidated group accounts
    • Being the initial reviewer on behalf of ivolve for all statutory accounts and managing the review process internally with key stakeholders
    • Holding external auditors to account to submit all statutory accounts on time for the Group
  • To support the Group Financial Controller in updating accounting policies for the Group, including:
    • Working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. Property team) in developing revised accounting policies for the Group in key areas such as capital expenditure and delegated authority
    • Preparing a schedule of all accounting policies for the Group and prioritise the review and update, proposing a timeline to update and an ongoing review process
    • Drafting accounting policies for the Group where there are current gaps in policy documentation and ensuring that these policies align with relevant accounting standards
  • To support with any ad-hoc accounting issues or requests, including:
    • Reviewing proposed investments and providing insight and guidance on appropriate accounting treatments (e.g. property works, software developments, IT infrastructure)
    • Ad hoc accounting queries
