Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial support to Education, Inclusion, and Skills services or Children’s Social Care, focusing on placements, fostering, asylum teams, and related projects.
• Lead and manage a team of Group Accountants, ensuring effective performance and supporting executive meetings and committee responsibilities.
• Set annual budgets and ensure robust financial forecasts aligning with strategic objectives.
• Identify, analyze, and report on financial implications of new initiatives, ensuring compliance within the service area.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, providing advice and promoting efficiency in financial practices.

Key Skills:

• Full CCAB qualification or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or Finance Manager in local authorities.
• Ability to build commercial models, define pricing strategies, and manage budgets and forecasts.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and funding opportunities.
• Strong financial acumen for assessing changes in financial management.
