Finance Manager- Capital & Revenue Reporting

Summary: The Finance Manager role involves overseeing capital and revenue accounting for a Local Authority in London on an interim basis. The position requires expertise in producing accurate financial statements and providing financial advice related to taxation and VAT. The candidate will also support the development of capital strategy and collaborate on treasury strategy to align with the Council's financial plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on capital and fixed asset accounting at a local authority.
• Ensure timely and accurate revenue and capital accounting entries for the Statement of Accounts.
• Produce the Statement of Accounts, Group Accounts, and related statutory returns.
• Provide financial advice and manage statutory returns related to taxation and VAT.
• Support the development of capital strategy as part of the medium-term financial strategy.
• Produce high-level capital monitoring reports according to established timelines.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager on developing a Treasury Strategy reflecting capital spending plans.
• Deliver specialist accounting services with a comprehensive understanding of accounting requirements.
