Summary: The Finance Information Analyst role requires candidates with experience in local authority settings to work with operational and financial datasets. The position involves analyzing data to identify trends, cleaning and validating data, and collaborating with teams to enhance data quality. The analyst will also develop actionable recommendations and create reports for non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF WORKING FOR A COUNCIL/LOCAL AUTHORITY
  • Work with operational and financial datasets, including fragmented or hard-to-access data sources.
  • Analyse usage patterns, cost drivers, and income streams to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Clean, validate, and reconcile messy data to build reliable insights.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to source missing information and understand context.
  • Develop clear, actionable recommendations for revenue optimisation and efficiency improvements.
  • Build straightforward dashboards or reports for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support the development of data processes that improve data quality and availability over time.
  • Identify gaps in existing datasets and propose practical methods to address them.
  • Apply critical thinking to uncover commercial opportunities beyond the initial brief.
  • Work with a proactive, can-do mindset in a dynamic and evolving environment.
