Finance Director opportunity for past paced, high growth PE backed group scaling quickly. Our client is a leading services businesses providing critical support to UK industry. Following investment their organisation is growing through acquisition and organic expansion, expecting to double in size in the next 5 years. An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Finance Leader to drive growth and performance in their largest market. The role requires a leader who is technically strong and commercially driven. Ideally candidates will have experience in a number of different commercial environments, working in high-pressure settings with fast paced expectations. Leading a team of over 20 and a business of £150m, your experience should be in environments of similar scale and complexity. You will work as a leader within the business area, partnering the operational directors providing challenge when necessary. Focussed on driving the business forward, challenging the value from overheads, driving margin on the bottom line with the most effective structure. You will have developed the capability needed to be able to influence and anticipate issues in a complex operating environment, you’ll know how to anticipate risks, reacting early to problems. You need to be deeply interested in the operational organisation, acting as a true business partner to the divisional managing director, understanding the journey of cash in the business and how it flows through from contracts to the balance sheet. The existing team will evolve far beyond the current structure to support growth, you'll need to be able to shape, develop and grow the function, understanding where change needs to take place to support the future organisation. As a leader in a changing and fast paced business with a national footprint you’ll need to be highly visible, you’ll be based in the Glasgow office but expected to spend about 30% of your time travelling between bases elsewhere in the UK.
