Finance Data Migration Assistant

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Accounts, you'll play a pivotal role in a key business project, helping ensure financial data is accurately migrated from a legacy finance system into Maconomy.

Alongside project work, you'll support day-to-day finance operations, providing a great balance of systems exposure and practical finance experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Migration
  • Extract, prepare and cleanse financial data for migration.
  • Standardise formats, remove duplicates and resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Prepare Excel import files and upload information into Maconomy.
  • Reconcile balances between old and new systems.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform validation checks to ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain clear records of reconciliations and testing completed.
  • Work closely with finance colleagues and external implementation partners.
  • Finance Support
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Support general ledger processing.
  • Help with month-end reconciliations and reporting tasks.
  • Maintain accurate finance records throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

2 to 4 years' finance, accounts or bookkeeping experience.

AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or actively studying towards an accounting qualification.

Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.

A solid understanding of accounting principles, including ledgers, payables, receivables and reconciliations.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

Experience using accounting or ERP systems.

Desirable

  • Previous data migration or data cleansing experience.
  • Experience with Maconomy or a similar ERP platform.
