Summary: The Finance Business Partner role involves supporting the Property Services function of a leading Housing Association in Kent on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The position requires close collaboration with operational stakeholders to manage a budget of approximately £40 million, focusing on financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements. The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant with strong finance business partnering experience, particularly in housing or related sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reporting at group, company, and budget holder level
- Act as a finance business partner to operational budget holders, support decision-making, and attend departmental management meetings
- Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process, including analysis of actuals, challenging costs, and identifying efficiencies
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support year-end financial statement preparation, including subsidiary accounts
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate financial information and documentation
- Assist with finance projects, process improvements, and financial systems implementation, including system upgrades, testing, and procedure documentation
Key Skills:
- CCAB qualified accountant
- Strong finance business partnering experience
- Previous experience within housing, property services, construction, or a similar sector
- Good understanding of relevant financial reporting standards (SORP and FRS)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
