Summary: The Finance Business Partner role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Glasgow, focusing on delivering financial insights and supporting strategic decision-making within the energy and utilities sector. The position involves close collaboration with operational leads to enhance financial reporting and drive efficiencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial analyses, leading budget forecasts, and mentoring finance team members. This role offers a hybrid working model, combining office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing financial insights and performance commentary against budget/reforecast.
- Preparing and reviewing month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting in reducing aged debt by identifying key drivers and customer issues.
- Leading annual budget forecasts and reforecasts for relevant business units.
- Owning and analysing financial data, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Improving processes and facilitating seamless cross-departmental communication.
- Reporting business-specific KPIs and tracking performance trends.
- Preparing and presenting month-end business packs for senior stakeholders.
- Conducting weekly and ad hoc meetings with operational leads.
- Mentoring and developing finance assistants/analysts within the team.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Qualified accountant (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA) or suitably qualified by experience.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred).
- Commercially astute with excellent reporting and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
Salary (Rate): 55000
