Finance Business Partner

Summary: The Finance Business Partner role at Southern Water involves providing strategic financial insights and support to key business areas on a temporary basis for 3 to 4 months. The position requires a hybrid working arrangement, with two days in the office and three days remote. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving business performance through financial analysis and stakeholder engagement. This role is classified as inside IR35 and offers a rate of £400 per day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the finance lead for assigned business areas, providing financial reporting and support.
• Manage budget and in-year forecast processes for opex & capex, guiding on planning assumptions and efficiencies.
• Enhance financial and KPI reporting outputs, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the Directorate.
• Provide financial insight and governance across multiple projects, recommending actions to meet objectives.
• Build strong relationships with corporate teams to ensure financial structures and governance are followed.
• Improve forecasting techniques to enhance financial accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Key Skills:

• Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience in a commercial business partnering role.
• Strong finance capabilities including commercial finance, FP&A, accounting, governance & controls.
• Excellent communication skills, able to lead financial discussions with non-finance professionals.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Sound business acumen with strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and expert user of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of MS Power BI or willingness to learn.
