Summary: The Finance Business Partner will support the Adult Social Care function of a public sector client in Chelmsford on a 9-month contract, providing expert financial guidance and strategic insight. This role involves driving cost-effective decision-making and advising senior stakeholders across Adult Social Care services. The position allows for hybrid working, requiring attendance in the office 2-3 days per week. The successful candidate will possess a full CCAB/CIMA qualification and strong public sector finance experience, particularly within Adult Social Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert financial guidance and strategic insight to the Adult Social Care directorate.
- Drive cost-effective decision-making and develop financial models.
- Advise senior stakeholders across Adult Social Care services.
- Manage financial performance, forecasting, and budget monitoring.
- Support strategic decisions through high-quality analysis and modelling.
- Prepare robust business cases and advise ASC leadership teams.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders and communicate financial information clearly.
- Maintain knowledge of financial regulations, funding streams, and ASC cost drivers.
- Influence service transformation, efficiency, and risk planning.
Key Skills:
- Full CCAB / CIMA qualification with evidence of continuing professional development.
- Strong public sector finance experience, ideally within Adult Social Care.
- Financial performance management, forecasting, and budget monitoring skills.
- Ability to support strategic decisions through high-quality analysis and modelling.
- Experience in preparing robust business cases and advising leadership teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Working knowledge of financial regulations, funding streams, and ASC cost drivers.
- Experience influencing service transformation, efficiency, and risk planning.
- Prior experience providing finance business partnering in ASC or social care services (desirable).
- Knowledge of local authority budget frameworks and political environments (desirable).
- Confidence supporting cross-cutting projects and multidisciplinary teams (desirable).
