Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve profitability and margin within the Business Unit by challenging trends and KPIs.
  • Drive operational and commercial improvements across the Business Unit.
  • Maintain control over the balance sheet and approve monthly reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth and renewal.
  • Assume commercial ownership of the Business Unit for new business bids and renewals.
  • Interpret customer contracts to highlight revenue leakage and scope creep.
  • Create and deliver monthly operating plans with identified risks and contingencies.
  • Approve annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with operational management.
  • Produce and present monthly and quarterly client performance reports.
  • Lead and develop a diverse team of Finance Business Analysts.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified in CIMA or ACCA.
  • Significant commercial background in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience.

YOUR ROLE

Our Contract Logistics commercial finance team who provide support to several CEVA operations have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially astute Finance Business Partner where you will support and maintain financial control for specific sites within your aligned Business Unit ensuring clear, conscious and accurate accounts are produced for CEVA and the client. This critical role goes beyond producing analysis and reports, you will take a leading approach to conversations with operational counterparts providing insights, improvements, and decisions, where you will challenge the status quo ensuring efficiencies, success and progression to long term strategic goals and objectives. This hybrid role will see you working across multiple sites and office locations, therefore candidates must be comfortable with traveling and must hold a full UK driving license. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Maternity cover, therefore we are ideally looking for someone to start with us in April 2026.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Reporting into the Finance Business Controller, your main areas of focus will be:

  • Take ownership of accurate and timely weekly and monthly management accounts, with a focus on past, present, and future performance, risk, and contingency planning.
  • Improve profitability and margin within the Business Unit challenging trends, performance and KPIs with Business Unit Director and operational teams.
  • Drive operational and commercial improvements across the Business Unit.
  • Maintain control over the balance sheet including reviewing and approving monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identifying opportunities for organic growth and renewal, understanding the customers plan, industry, and associated risks.
  • Assume commercial ownership of the Business Unit assisting with new business bids, renewals, Capex/ICAP processes.
  • Interpret customer contracts, regularly reviewing to highlight revenue leakage and scope creep.
  • Create, deliver, and agree monthly operating plans highlighting risks and contingencies identified to the Business Unit.
  • Approve annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with operational management.
  • Produce and present monthly and quarterly client performance, KPI and attendance reporting.
  • In addition, you also take responsibility for leading and developing a diverse team of Finance Business Analyst where you will instill a high performance and continuous improvement culture that drives success and engagement.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To be successful in your application you will be Qualified or Part-Qualified in CIMA or ACCA with a significant commercial background in financial accounting and reporting, ideally within a commercial, contract logistics or third-party logistics experience. You will have proven leadership and project management experience with the ability to identify and implement improvements within an operational and customer facing role. You will be highly numerate with the ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data to identify trends and positively influence decisions when needed. You will be an excellent communicator able to build wider business relationships to explain complex issues and information to financial and non-financial colleagues, be a logical thinker and natural problem solver. It goes without saying that you will be IT literate with good working knowledge of accounting and reporting software’s and proficient with MS Excel.
