Key Responsibilities
- Supporting senior stakeholders with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Providing effective financial management and challenge around organisational spend.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary.
- Managing the full month-end management accounting cycle from start to finish.
- Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments, ensuring they are accurate and correctly uploaded to the finance system.
- Reviewing new business initiatives and providing financial assurance and input into business cases.
- Supporting the management of funding and income.
- Building strong relationships with senior budget holders and providing clear financial advice and challenge.
- Producing high-quality financial reporting and commentary to support decision-making.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner with a strong grounding in management accounting and a proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
You will ideally be a qualified accountant, although finalists and candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Experience partnering with senior budget holders, ideally up to Director level.
- End-to-end experience across the management accounting and business partnering cycle.
- Strong month-end accounting knowledge, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Strong written communication, reporting and financial commentary skills.
- The confidence to provide financial challenge and assurance to stakeholders.
- Availability to start during September.
Public sector or not-for-profit experience is desirable but not essential; candidates from a private sector background with strong Finance Business Partnering experience are encouraged to apply.
