Summary: This role requires a dedicated Finance Architect to lead the Discovery Phase of the SAP Finance & HR Transformation Programme, focusing on the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The architect will define strategies for data archiving and migration, ensuring compliance and optimization of data transfer. The position is based in Yorkshire and offers a competitive day rate outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting a deep-dive process reviews and documentation of current finance operations
- Identifying manual process bottlenecks, pain points, and improvement opportunities
- Mapping existing SAP ECC process configurations and their interdependencies
- Facilitating stakeholder workshops with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to capture requirements and future state needs
- Advising on potential automation opportunities using standard S/4HANA capabilities
- Recommending quick wins and strategic changes
- Developing a transformation roadmap that covers how to deploy the functionalities
- Communicating SAP Readiness Check for SAP S/4 HANA Report in business language
Key Skills:
- Experience working on S/4 HANA and ECC migrations
- Knowledge of Finance Modules
- Ability to produce high-level process maps and pain point analysis
- Ability to document a list of manual steps across finance functions
- Ability to identify Business processes
- Experience running workshops
- Strong stakeholder Management Skills

Your New Role
This engagement covers the Discovery Phase of the SAP Finance & HR Transformation Programme. Our client is planning to transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, with significant data volumes accumulated over many years in the SAP ECC.
A dedicated Finance Architect is required to define the strategy and roadmap for data archiving and data migration, ensuring that only required, compliant, and optimised data is moved to the target system. The role is based in Yorkshire and will be paying a competitive day rate outside IR35.
What you will be doing
The Finance Architect will be responsible for:
- Conducting a deep-dive process reviews and documentation of current finance operations
- Identifying manual process bottlenecks, pain points, and improvement opportunities
- Mapping existing SAP ECC process configurations and their interdependencies
- Facilitating stakeholder workshops with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to capture requirements and future state needs
