Summary: This role is for a Finance Analyst within the Business Finance team, offering a 9-month fixed-term contract. The position involves supporting and challenging the Medical and Enabling Functions directorates through financial analysis, commentary, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to ensure accurate financial results and effective decision-making. The role requires a part-qualified accountant or someone qualified by experience, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and challenge the work of Medical and Enabling Functions directorates.
  • Deliver financial analysis and commentary to help budget holders achieve their objectives.
  • Advise and support staff on financial results and plans.
  • Provide financial support for effective decision-making.
  • Engage in research, project analysis, continuous improvement, and cost reviews.

Key Skills:

  • Part qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) or qualified by extensive experience.
  • Experience in management accounting/reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Risk awareness and intellectual curiosity.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to provide objective advice and influence staff at all levels.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

An exciting opportunity has come up in the Business Finance team for a Finance Analyst to join us for a 9 month FTC. This role offers you the opportunity to work within a passionate Finance Business Partnering team, and support and challenge the work of our Medical and Enabling Functions directorates. The breadth of finance focus activities include research, project analysis, continuous improvement and cost reviews, amongst others. Working closely with colleagues from each directorate as well as the Finance Planning and Reporting and Financial Control teams, this role will play a key part in delivering the financial analysis and commentary, support and insight and stakeholder management to help budget holders deliver their objectives. Your focus will be on advising and supporting staff, ensuring financial results and plans are accurate and fit for purpose, as well as providing the financial support needed for effective decision-making.

About you We are looking for a part qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) or qualified by extensive experience. With experience of management accounting/reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis, you’ll have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. To be successful in this role you'll also have:

  • a proactive attitude
  • able to use own initiative and work without close supervision

Working arrangements This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office. Please note this is a 9-month fixed term contract covering family leave. At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.
