The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a finance professional to join a growing international consultancy during a period of systems transformation. This role will play a key part in supporting the implementation of a new finance system, ensuring accurate data migration, reconciliation of balances and support across a range of finance projects.

This position would suit an ambitious Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Finance Analyst with strong Excel skills who is looking to gain experience within a fast-paced professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the migration and validation of financial data into the new Maconomy system.
  • Perform open balance reconciliations and month-end reconciliations.
  • Review, cleanse and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and reporting processes.
  • Provide support with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with audit preparation and audit-related requests.
  • Work closely with finance stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Support wider finance projects and process improvement initiatives as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation throughout the migration process.

  • 2 to 4 years' experience within a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data manipulation.
  • Experience performing reconciliations and supporting month-end processes.
  • Experience working with multiple finance/accounting systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Immediately available or available at short notice.

Desirable

  • Previous finance systems migration or implementation experience.
  • Experience using Maconomy.
  • Exposure to budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Audit preparation experience.
  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
