Summary: The Finance Analyst role is a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months, focused on providing financial reporting, planning, and analytical support to enhance financial control and decision-making across various business functions. The position requires collaboration with different departments to ensure accurate financial schedules and variance analysis, alongside supporting commercial decision-making and operational planning. This hybrid role involves working at least two days in the office and the remainder from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end accounts with insightful commentary, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work with business functions to ensure accurate schedules for income, margin, cost, or commitment.
- Maintain schedules and systems for monitoring spend and adhere to processes.
- Produce and explain variance analysis for month-end and planning.
- Provide accurate financial analysis to aid commercial decision-making and support business case production.
- Update and maintain forecast models in conjunction with agreed assumptions and planned activities.
- Build business relationships to achieve objectives and contribute to planning meetings.
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations, Company Policies, and FCA Conduct Rules.
Key Skills:
- Strong user of Word and Excel, with the ability to set up tables, spreadsheets, and graphs.
- Basic commercial understanding of business and retailing.
- Studying or aiming towards a professional accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Retail experience or understanding of retail challenges and KPIs.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to all levels of personnel.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills, including modelling and visual basic.
- General ledger experience and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel user and basic competence in database packages.
- Power BI capability and D365 experience.
- Degree in Accounting and Finance, Management, Administration, or Marketing with an analytical leaning.
