Summary: The Fibre Network Planner role is a 6-month onsite contract focused on large-scale core network projects, including site closures and diversionary works. The position requires immediate availability and emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams. The planner will utilize GIS tools for network design and manage legacy networks and customer migrations. This role is classified as outside IR35, indicating a favorable tax status for contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design fibre networks using GIS tools (eg, GE Smallworld).
  • Prepare technical documentation (LLDs, schematics, splicing schedules).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and offshore teams.
  • Manage Legacy networks, customer migrations, and high-risk cable outages.
  • Maintain clear communication and problem-solving under pressure.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in fibre network planning.
  • Proficiency with GIS tools and understanding of fibre routing, cable types, and splicing.
