Summary: The Facilities Manager (Hard Services) role involves overseeing the operational elements of Hard Services contracts for a large local government organization. The position requires ensuring compliance with contract requirements, providing technical leadership, and supporting the development of effective property management strategies. This is a three-month contract that may be extended for the right candidate, with a focus on maintaining safety and service quality. NEBOSH or equivalent certification is essential for this role, which is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor operational elements of Hard Services contracts for compliance and efficiency.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for Service Providers to resolve escalated issues and provide advice.
  • Support planning and coordination of the Council’s reactive technical maintenance delivery.
  • Ensure safe service delivery through monitoring and implementing safe work processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of buildings and processes to identify service delivery issues.
  • Provide regular service reporting to stakeholders regarding performance and improvement areas.
  • Liaise with other Council areas to ensure policy compliance and governance implementation.
  • Develop and implement contractor performance and procurement strategies.
  • Monitor Service Providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and value for money.
  • Provide technical leadership to support the facilities strategy development and implementation.
  • Develop policies and procedures for Operational Property and Facilities Management.

Key Skills:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in facilities management, specifically in Hard Services.
  • Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Strong auditing and reporting skills.

Salary (Rate): £30.20
