Summary: The Facilities Engineer role involves leading the design and delivery of bespoke test rigs and fixtures for one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support the core cycle plan across various Engineering Lab test areas. The engineer will utilize CAD tools and manage the workload to ensure timely delivery of test rigs. This contract-based role is located in Warwickshire and focuses on both component and full vehicle testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design test rigs and components using the 3DX toolset (Catia V6) from concept to delivery
- Create 2D drawings for manufacture of parts at internal workshops and external suppliers
- Liaise with customers to identify testing requirements
- Manage and plan workload to ensure on-time delivery of test rigs
- Validation of designs using appropriate methods e.g., Hand Calculations, kinematics, MBS, FEA/CAE
- Create technical reports
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of testing methodologies relating to the testing of road vehicles
- Understanding of vehicle architecture, components and mechanical systems
- Experienced CAD user for 3D modelling
- Ability to produce and interpret 2D complex detailed drawings
- Understanding of various manufacturing techniques

Do you have a background in design and delivery of bespoke test rigs and fixtures?One of the world's largest automotive manufacturers, is currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer, to lead the design and delivery of bespoke test rigs and fixtures, in support of the core cycle plan across all the Engineering Lab test areas. These rigs will vary from component to system level, or full vehicle testing.Based in Warwickshire, you will be supporting, a dedicated and multidisciplinary team, on a contract basis.
