Summary: The Executive Director of Housing role involves creating and managing a new housing directorate for a Bristol-based client on an interim basis for 6-9 months. Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for services including estate management, responsive repairs, planned maintenance, housing options, housing delivery business development, and private and accessible housing.
- Take leadership responsibility for all strategic matters concerning the corporate plan outcomes across the city.
- Provide overall leadership of all aspects of the Council's housing and homelessness agenda, developing and delivering strategies and services to address housing needs, and prevent rough sleeping and homelessness.
- Provide strategic leadership to improving building safety practices and ensure full compliance with housing statutory and regulatory requirements so that residents can feel safe and comfortable in their homes.
- Work closely with partners across the city and wider region to deliver comprehensive housing strategies and solutions that respond to the housing needs of the City's communities.
Key Skills:
- Proven track record of consistent and demonstrable leadership achievement at a strategic level in housing.
- Expertise and significant experience in leading and delivering a diverse range of housing services across multi-disciplinary teams and functions.
- Ability to build and develop strategic relationships, influencing and negotiating at the highest levels with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of HRA finance including central government funding regimes, local government innovation and private investment opportunities, and experience.
