Summary: The Events & Exhibitions Manager is responsible for managing events, exhibitions, and VIP visits in the UK, playing a crucial role in supporting the Communications and Corporate Affairs organization. This position requires effective project management skills to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of events while collaborating with various teams and stakeholders. The role is primarily based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, with some travel required within the UK. The manager will also engage with senior management and ensure compliance with health and safety and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a project manager before and during the event or visit
- Plan and deliver Protocol and Events activities in the UK on time and with quality
- Support the organization and management of UK-based exhibitions across all divisions
- Arrange VIP, media, and industry visits
- Collect briefs and necessary information to ascertain precise event requirements
- Be responsible for the event and exhibition concept
- Decide on treatment for each visitor and delegate tasks to outside suppliers
- Coordinate all subcontractors during the event
- Manage the budget
- Organize follow-up sessions for lessons learned and recommendations
- Apply customer-oriented standards and customize visits and events
- Give advice on content and format
- Ensure exhibitions reflect corporate image and meet guests' needs
- Ensure Health and Safety procedures are respected
- Engage with Senior Management for hospitality and VIP visit requirements
- Cooperate with site management and services for events
- Work closely with UK Communications and Marketing teams
- Act within Ethics and Compliance rules
Key Skills:
- Prior experience in events management
- Familiarity with the aerospace & defence industry preferred
- Ability to pre-plan and manage large scale and high-profile events
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of office procedures and proficiency in Word, Excel, and online event tools
- Ability to manage a budget
- Knowledge of Protocol activities
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work with people at all levels, including VIPs
- Good knowledge of procurement processes
- Understanding of compliance regulations and processes beneficial
