Summary: This role as an Event Specialist on a 3-month fixed-term contract is pivotal for delivering the RICS Awards programme, which includes 12 prestigious ceremonies celebrating excellence in the built and natural environment. The position involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful event execution while generating revenue through ticket sales and sponsorships. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience within RICS and build valuable relationships. Candidates will be responsible for managing various aspects of event delivery, from logistics to post-event reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all events are delivered in line with industry best practice, offering engaging and customer-focused experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the team to drive efficiencies, continuous improvement and effective evaluation.
  • Build strong, effective relationships with internal teams, external partners, sponsors and suppliers.
  • Manage delegate processes including bookings, joining instructions and responding to enquiries.
  • Source and secure suitable venues, negotiate rates and manage on-site requirements.
  • Set up and manage digital event platforms, including registration and on-the-day hosting.
  • Coordinate technical production, ensuring all equipment, support and technical specifications are in place.
  • Lead speaker management – from briefings and logistics to final content confirmation.
  • Oversee onsite delivery, including registration, venue coordination and stakeholder support.
  • Support sponsorship and partnership activity, ensuring obligations are met and relationships maintained.
  • Complete post-event reporting, including budget reconciliation, engagement insights and feedback summaries.

This 3-month FTC Event Specialist role is a critical additional to the team. You will play an essential role in delivering the RICS Awards programme – a flagship portfolio of 12 high-profile ceremonies that celebrate excellence across the built and natural environment. The Awards programme is a major engagement activity for members and the wider industry and is also commercially significant, generating revenue through ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities. Reporting to the Regional Market Director, you will support the end-to-end delivery of events, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure events are professionally delivered, engaging, and aligned with the RICS brand. Although this is a fixed term contract, it offers the opportunity to experience life at RICS, work on a high-profile programme, build strong internal relationships, and access RICS internal vacancies during the contract.
