Summary: The Event Marketing Manager at The Economist Group will lead the strategic marketing plan for the Subscriber Events programme on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role involves creating and executing marketing strategies to enhance engagement with subscriber events, both online and in-person, while collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with editorial content. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performance reporting and continuous improvement of the events programme. This position is critical as The Economist seeks to expand its event offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee all marketing activity for The Economist’s programme of subscriber events.
- Develop a targeted communications strategy to drive event registrations, attendance, and on-demand views.
- Align event marketing plans with the broader engagement strategy.
- Work closely with event producers and the editorial team to ensure marketing alignment with the news agenda.
- Manage a communications plan to ensure alignment across different teams and channels.
- Define key event KPIs and provide regular performance reports.
- Create and own an annual test and learn plan for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the subscriber event product team to enhance the event experience.
- Use audience insights to shape the growth of the subscriber event programme.
- Play a pivotal role in developing in-person events and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Skills:
- Experience in event marketing, particularly online event marketing and operations.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Confident communicator with experience working with senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of subscriptions marketing and customer lifecycle stages.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar tools.
- Experience with customer data and targeted segmentation.
- Strong analytical skills and high data proficiency.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver quality reports/presentations.
- Some line management experience preferred but not essential.
