Summary: The Principal Technologist – End User Compute (EUC) Consultant is a strategic and technical role focused on leading the development and execution of EUC strategies within a complex enterprise environment. This position involves influencing policy, collaborating with various stakeholders, and enhancing workplace productivity, security, and user experience. The role requires a strong background in end user compute services and the ability to integrate emerging technologies. The position is hybrid, requiring three days on-site each week in London, Manchester, or Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the strategic direction of end user compute services, spanning hardware, software, virtual desktops, and modern provisioning methods.
  • Provide technical advice and thought leadership on device and user experience strategy to senior stakeholders.
  • Shape standards and lifecycle strategies for devices, from provisioning to retirement.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including Windows 365, device-as-a-service (DaaS), and AI-powered productivity tools.
  • Work closely with workplace strategy, commercial, and OEM/vendor teams to modernise digital workplace infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with service integrators and managed service providers to deliver scalable and consistent EUC solutions.
  • Drive adoption and integration of endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, and cloud-native UEM solutions.
  • Support policies, best practice frameworks, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure a seamless, performant and secure end user experience across various devices and user personas.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience designing and managing end user compute services at scale within a large enterprise or government environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of endpoint architecture, device lifecycle management, and software provisioning.
  • Expertise in tools and technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, and modern MDM/UEM platforms.
  • Awareness of evolving EUC technologies including Windows 365, cloud PCs, ARM-based devices, and AI-driven workplace tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, and analytical skills.

We are looking for a Principal Technologist specialising in End User Compute (EUC) to lead the development and execution of our EUC strategy across a complex enterprise environment. This is a highly strategic and technical role, driving improvements in workplace productivity, security, and user experience. You’ll influence policy, collaborate with technical and commercial leads, and help set the direction for how end user devices and digital workplace services are delivered across the public sector.
