Summary: The role of ETL Tester involves extensive experience in data warehouse development and testing, particularly focusing on ETL processes. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in QA/Testing Lifecycle, database testing, and the ability to transform complex business logic into SQL queries. The position requires a self-starter who can work independently on complex projects while adhering to Agile Testing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing for data warehouse development and ETL processes.
  • Implement QA/Testing Lifecycle methodologies.
  • Perform DB-related testing and ETL testing.
  • Write basic SQL queries to validate data integrity and transformation.
  • Transform complex business logic into SQL or PL/SQL queries.
  • Identify and document testing issues and quality risks.
  • Participate in defect remediation and Agile Testing practices.
  • Engage in test management activities including assessment, test strategies, and test plans.
  • Understand ETL requirements and testing with various file types.

Key Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Warehouse Developer Tester or ETL Tester.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Expertise in QA/Testing Lifecycle and DB-related testing.
  • Experience with reporting and BI tools.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation.
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile Testing practices.
  • Experience in scripting and test automation is a plus.
  • Understanding of ETL requirements and source-to-target mappings.

Rate: £275/day inside IR35

Requirements:

  • 4+ experience as Data warehouse developer tester or ETL Tester
  • Graduate degree preferred in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
  • Expert in understanding and implementing QA/Testing Lifecycle
  • Expertise in DB-related testing and ETL testing
  • Testing experience with reporting and BI tools
  • Writing basic SQLs to check record counts, data truncation, invalid data types, NULLs and data integrity, data transformation, aggregate functions testing
  • Expertise preferred in testing our current or a similar analytics stack
  • Experience in transforming complex Business logic into SQL or PL/SQL queries
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work on complex projects and analyzes business requirements independently
  • Must be able to identify and document testing issues and quality risks, participate in defect remediation
  • Willingness to follow Agile Testing practices and guidelines, including Defect Management
  • Actively participate in all test management activities like assessment, test strategies and test plans
  • Knowledge of Database objects and relational data model
  • Experience in scripting
  • Test automation experience is huge plus
  • Understanding of ETL requirements (source-to-target mappings)
